About the ANS RISC OS Filebase
Introduction
The ANS RISC OS Filebase has provided a comprehensive database of RISC OS software on the Web since February 2000. Search facilities allow visitors to locate applications and utilities with ease.
All developers (whether commercial, shareware, or whatever) are encouraged to register and add their software to the database to allow users easy access. Once items are listed please remember to keep the information up to date.
Information
Each entry includes a description of the software, and links allowing you to either download the program or to go to the author's web page for more information. The database also includes details of the size of archives, current version number (and date) and RISC OS compatibility.
"Watched Items" Lists
After a visitor has registered, they begin building their own personal "watched items" list. These lists make it easy for the user to keep track of updates to their favourite software. The Filebase can email the user when items on the list are updated (the frequency of this email can be chosen by the user).
Claiming Software
There are already a large number of entries within the Filebase (well over 800 at the time of re-launch), many of which are 'unclaimed' by any user. If after registering, you come across any unclaimed items for which you are the author, feel free to claim ownership. Equally, if you feel that someone has claimed ownership of an entry without good cause, please contact the site administrator (Stephen Courtney).
There are two RSS feeds available from the Filebase site:
- Updated Entries - lists the 10 move recent updates
- New Entries - lists the 10 most recent additions
