IntroductionProfessional offline video editing system, widely used in broadcast and education.
Details
Originally created by Eidos Technologies, Optima is now celebrating its 10th Anniversary in a brand new version by Origin Systems.
Optima is a flexible offline editing system widely used by producers and directors for Broadcast and Corporate work, and by a broad range of Universities, Colleges and Schools. Using removable data storage disks makes it as easy to change projects as using video tape. Optima is designed for the essential creative task – that of telling the story.
Optima is designed to be intuitive and quick to learn – essential when students and professionals have limited hands-on time. Typically, new users are able to edit effectively after only a few hours introductory training.
Being an offline system, Optima doesn't create the final broadcast version of a programme. Rather, it produces a 'recipe' which reflects accurately all the creative decision making - this 'recipe' is then used in a top quality facility to 're-create' the programme at high quality. It's actually very like the process for producing a glossy magazine, whereby all the creative work is done on a relatively low-cost system, leaving the printing firm only the task of producing the final copy from your own files.
