IntroductionThis application will create an HTML index of MP3s for the directory it is in and any sub-directories.
Details
It will use the information from the ID3v1 appended TAG data to index by album title, track title, and artist.
The track title will be a live link to the track which will, under Windows on a CD or DVD, launch the MP3 track with the currently available player.
Under Windows, a CD or DVD can auto-boot the HTML index into the currently available browser. If you want this to happen, hold down the ALT key whilst running the program, and the necessary files will be created..
To use the application, simply copy it to the directory you want to index and run it. A standard DVD's worth of average album tracks will take about 1½ minutes to index on my Iyonix, but the application multi-tasks, so you can do other things at the same time.
Then delete the application itself.
Any tracks not having a TAG will be marked as such in red in the title field. Any invalid HTML characters will be converted to entities.
The application now prevents multiple copies running and has a sensible informative taskname whilst it is running
It now has an audible signal alert when processing is completed.
