IntroductionFractal generated by random selection of affine transformations
Latest Changes
Now allows of a user-defined set up up to ten affine mappings, supplied from a panel off the bar icon menu.
Details
Plots points by randomly applying a set of 'affine' transformations i.e. mappings of the form x(n+1) = a.x(n)+b.y(n)+c and y(n+1) = d.x(n)+e.y(n)+f. These mappings transorm the point [x(n),y(n)] to the point [x(n+1),y(n+1)], where n=0, 1, 2, etc., and the (a,b,c,d,e,f) belong to a fixed set of such groups of numbers. The group applied each time is selected randomly from the fixed set. The set of points plotted gradually approach a self-similar, or 'fractal' like pattern. Different sets of 'affine' transformations that generate different patterns are user-selectable.
